Welcome to the Harrisburg School District. As you embark upon a new school year, we hope that you will establish high expectations for yourself that will be reflected in your academic achievement, your co-curricular involvement, and your positive contributions to your school community.
Student Enrollment
The Harrisburg School District’s current K-12 enrollment is 3,016 students.
Elementary Enrollment
The current elementary enrollment is 1,767 students distributed between Liberty Elementary (454 students) (200 Willow St. Harrisburg), Explorer Elementary (577 students)(4010 West 82nd St. Sioux Falls), Freedom Elementary (312 students)( 1101 Tom Sawyer Trail, Harrisburg), Journey Elementary (424 students) (6801 S Grange Ave, Sioux Falls). The district has its largest Kindergarten enrollment this year which is at 353 students.
Middle School Enrollment
The current Harrisburg Middle School (200 Willow St. Harrisburg) enrollment is 634 students.
Harrisburg Middle school includes grades 6, 7, and 8.
High School Enrollment
Harrisburg High School (600 S. Cliff Ave. Harrisburg) has a current enrollment of 615 students in grades 9, 10, 11, and 12.
When utilizing just the current enrollment in the district, in school year 2010-11 the high school will have a possible 2,600 students. We can expect this number to be higher due to the fact that new students will be added to the high school each year as history has indicated.
